This is Duty of Care
A blog, safe space and community for the healthcare humans holding it together with caffeine, sarcasm, and pure grit.
Whether you’re on the edge, already unraveling, or just Googled “am I burnout or just being dramatic?” —this space is yours.
I’m a Paramedic turned Advanced Clinical Practitioner who spent over a decade giving everything to healthcare. I wore the green uniform with pride. I took every extra shift. I moved into management, pushed myself clinically, and kept trying to be more… all while slowly losing sight of who I was outside of the chaos.
In 2025, I hit a wall—hard. Anxiety. Fatigue. Shingles on my birthday. The kind of stop that doesn’t leave you a choice but to rethink everything.
This blog is part recovery, part rebellion.
It’s a space to tell the truth about burnout, resilience, and the messy reality of being “the strong one.” It’s for the humans behind the scrubs, the uniforms, and the lanyards.
Here, you’ll find:
- Raw reflections from the thick of it
- Notes on healing (the real kind, not the wellness poster kind)
- Information about burnout and recovery
- Self-care tools that don’t feel like a chore
- Bold thoughts on fixing a system that loves to break people
- A reminder that you’re not alone
Because the duty of care starts with us.
If you’re here, I’m glad you are.
Rest. Read. Rage a little, if you need to.
You’re allowed to feel all of it.
Let’s get through it, together
